Wow.. As I keep reading everyone else's blogs I realized that it has been ages since I have posted anything! Life is good at the Schreurs household. McKinley is in the 1st grade and is 7 years old and is loving school. She is doing a great job! Lexi is 5 and is attending one more year of pre-school. I can tell I made the right choice and she is loving it! And then there is Miss Avery.. My spitfire. She will be 3 on the 15th of this month.. She definitely keeps me going! I am still working at US Bank as a sales representative and Ryan is still self employed carpenter as well as many side jobs! He definitely keeps busy!

I think my last post was our new house. We moved in back in April, but now have made a lot of changes, we still have a lot to do; however progress is being made. We finally got our brick done and have front steps, so come by to check it out!

I thought I better post a few photos of the girls just to keep up! I hope everyone is doing well. Keep in touch!

So Much to Write About...

Sorry it has been so long since my last blog... Life with the Schreurs family has been very busy over the last month..
First.. April 15th.. We moved into our new house.. we love it; however it is a lot to get organized.. Thank goodness for my mom.. she has been here for the past couple of weeks trying to get us in shape! Can't wait for everyone to come see it!
On April 17th our family was saddened by the loss of our 4th child. I was 17 weeks along (2 days shy I guess) and went in for my normal Dr appt and we couldn't find a heartbeat. An ultrasound confirmed that we had lost the baby. What an emotional day for all of us. We keep telling ourselves that it happened for a reason.. which it is hard to except; however we know in our hearts that is the truth. We are very blessed with our 3 beautiful girls.. but will never forget our little angel. Since God has a plan for all of us, he will let us know if we will someday try for baby #4. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, cards, e-mails during this difficult time. We are blessed!
On April 23rd, I went with Lexi to the Circus.. What a beautiful day.. The photos are below..
Lexi's last day of pre-school was Thursday, April 30th.. She did such a great job singing at the concert.. A few photos below.. She thinks she is going to kindergarten next year, but with a June birthday we are going to have her go to pre-school one more year.. I know it won't hurt in the long run..

I will get photos of the other two girls shortly.. they are all growing up.. McKinley will be having her concert on Tuesday, May 5th (her dad's birthday) that will be fun to watch.. Avery is in the terrible two's.. but still wouldn't trade her for the world. McKinley is doing very well in kindergarten and she will have kindergarten graduation on May 29th.. it is so hard to believe I will have a first grader soon! Wow.. how time flies..

Starting April 18th.. we have had weddings every weekend.. our last one is May 16th.. (5 weekends in a row.. ) Then camping starts.. so I am sure as we get things settled in the house and camping starts, I will have more to blog...

Each year the grandkids come out to our place to have photos with grandpa and the baby lambs.. each year it seems we continue to add a new grandchild so the photos continue to get a little more difficult to get everyone looking at the same time! Grandpa truly enjoys having the grandkids out to help him.. and the kids love it too!

Wow.. it has been over a month since I last blogged.. I am sorry about that. We have so many things going on right now..

House update:
We are getting so close. I had tons of friends and family help the week and weekend of the 14th and we got all the painting done.. thanks everyone.. My mom came for a few days and did some major cleaning in the new house as well as some fun decorating on the girls' walls, and this weekend we started tiling and my brother in law got most of the lights in and hung.. Wow..

Tiling should be done tomorrow night and then the grout.. So next will be baseboard, hanging doors, installing cabinets.. all before April 6th as that is when our carpet will be here...

I know the famous question is.. when do we get to move in.. I don't have an exact date, but truly hoping for the end of April first part of May.. but if we have to hold off just a little. that is ok as I know the end is in sight!

Work has been busy too.. The girls still loving school.. McKinley is almost finished with her kindergarten year and has done an excellent job.. Lexi is almost done with pre-school.. we had pre-school screening last week and she did very well; however we are thinking we'll still have her attend one more year of pre-school.. she is probably ready, but we want to make sure so she isn't struggling later in life.. And Avery.. she is in the terrible 2's.. one minute she melt's my heart and the next she is in timeout.. but I wouldn't change a thing.. And as most of you know.. we are now truly adjusting to the fact that we will be adding another little one to the family in September.. We are 13 weeks along so have a long road ahead, but the girls are very excited.. It will be an adjustment for all of us.. but God grants us what we can handle and we are very excited now for this little one to join our family!

Other then that.. Life is good at the Schreurs house.. I certainly hope all is well with everyone else.. hopefully soon I can get a few pictures posted of the accomplishments of the house.. soon I would love to have everyone stop by to see what I have waited for almost a year!

Wow.. when Tif asked me to do this, I too was nervous at what I would find. I did realize that I need to clean out my files as the picture above is from Halloween of 2006 with Great Great Grandma Schreurs. She passed away this last year at the age of 104 (I think).. what a neat lady. Each year the girls would go to the Nursing home to have their photo.. This definitely brings back memories..

Wow.. thank goodness I got a new camera.. can you see all the water spots in these photos.. TERRIBLE! The girls truly enjoyed going to Iowa and getting to pet the horses. My dad has 4 palamino horses that all look a like, so that is why I couldn't tell you which one was which in the photos. It was nice to get down to Iowa for a few days over the Holidays!

I just recently got a new camera, so it has been fun taking photos.. We just had bath night and we took a few photos of the girls.. It is amazing how big they are getting. This was in the Omaha airport before our flight.. we had to have a pre-flight drink!

Ryan and I as well as the Boerbooms and Bednareks took off on Friday morning, the 16th to head to Arizona for our annual Awards Banquet for US Bank. We stayed at the Fairmont Princess Resort in Scottsdale.. It was beautiful.. Friday night we were able to spend sometime wih the Boerboom's relative and had a great meal.. (Thank you) After the meal, we drove back to Don and Cilla's condo.. wow what a nice place.. (Thanks Don and Cilla). On Saturday morning we had tee times at the Starfire Golf Course and golfed 18 holes.. It was a very nice course and a lot of fun! (I golfed a 53 and a 61.. which isn't bad considering July was probably the last time I got to golf) After golf we headed to our resort to meet up with the rest of the US Bank family and dealers. Saturday night was a welcome reception.. I stayed out too late that night.. Sunday was a complete free day.. I stayed by the pool the entire day.. No tan lines what so ever.. I was bummed. Monday and Tuesday I had meetings all day; however Ryan was able to have a lot of free time. Monday was a little shopping and then hanging by the pool..and then dinner and drinks that night. Tuesday Ryan met up with Patrick Brown (Daynica Drake's husband) and went golfing with Patrick's friend and two of Ryan's friends.. they certainly had a great time! We had our awards banquet on Tuesday night and more dinner and drinks as well. It was an early Wednesday morning, getting up at 4:45.. We arrived in Marshall around 4:30 that afternoon and it was a lot of fun to see the girls after 5 days.

(Thanks to my Mom, Jodi, Shawna, Darice, David and Diane for helping with the girls while we were gone as well as the house.. we are lucky to have such awesome people in our lives)

I forgot to mention that the weather was 79-80 all 5 days that we were there.. so it was REALLY hard to come back to Minnesota.. It is -8 today.. UGH..

The girls wanted to play outside today. I know only 20 degrees out and they still wanted to head out. So since this was the first time out in the snow for the year, I thought I better get a photo. With building we have a pretty large dirt pile that seemed to occupy their time which is what they are sitting on. They didn't last very long outside, but enough to have a good time!

Avery turns 2 next Saturday, the 15th so we got her ears pierced for her birthday. I had pierced McKinley's when she was two and waited to do Lexi's until she was three and found out that the younger they were, the easier it was to clean and take care, so we made Avery pretty today! Take a look at the photos.. she is pretty proud. She did very good, she cried once it was over, but once they gave her a sucker, no more tears!

Jayden Jon Schreurs was born on Sunday, October 19th to Jon and Jen Schreurs! He is adorable, yes I am a proud auntie. He has 3 cousins that really enjoy him too. It will be fun watching him grow over the next few years. He was a cute little pumpkin last night, I wish I would have gotten a few photos to share with everyone... Hopefully we get lots of opportunities to give Mom and Dad a break and we'll post more photos!

My dad came up to visit last Sunday.. (The really windy Sunday.. so we had to stay inside most of the day) He had to have a surgery in Sioux Falls on Monday, so came to see the girls. As you can tell from the photos.. they LOVE it when grandpa comes to visit! Many of you ask who Avery looks like and it is a little hard to tell in these photos, but if you look at my dad's baby picture and at Avery, you know who she resembles.. (She even has his attitude too, we are in TROUBLE)

Kitten Update!

Well, in this picture we were down to 3 kittens as we started with 4; however since then we only have 2 left. The black kitten snuggled up against the wall has since left us. But as you can see, since the first pictures posted, they have become more friendly. The girls continue to feed them each day and can usually pet them for a bit right after eating! I am not a huge cat lover; however enjoy watching the girls get so excited about their new pets!

I know many of you are wondering how the house is coming along.. Well w have windows now!!!! So we have seen a little progress, but of course I am always wishing for more! Today we had some cement poured for our overhang on our porch and we are hoping to get some other things finished to get it all enclosed prior to the snow flying! Our next steps will be the electrical and plumbing and then I think Ryan can start moving forward on some things! It has been a slow progress; however I have to remember that it will all be worth it in the end!

1. I sometimes wish that I had enough money where I didn't have to work, I had a cleaning lady, and could spend a lot of time with my 3 little girls and still had plenty of time to spend with my closest friends.

2. I love sports, you name it I love it.. I sometimes thing back to highschool when athletics came easy for me.. sometimes I wish I was young again!

3. I often daydream about my new house being done and am hoping and praying all my friends help me decorate, that is one thing you need to know about me, I am NOT creative and have no desire to decorate this new house... So if you enjoy it, let me know.. you are hired!

4. I love photos, taking them and looking at them. I often take photos of my girls for no reason just to watch them grow before my eyes and show them off to all my friends and family! I love them dearly!

5. Summer is my favorite season, I like Fall too; however I could handle the weather not getting below 50 degrees and enjoying life!

6. Along the same lines as Kitsie, a date, I can't even remembre the last "date" that I had with Ryan. I truly never see him, I can totally relate to the no real alone time for mom. However I guess as I look back I have cherished each day with the girls, even though there are days I could pull my hair out. I wouldn't have wanted to miss some of the special moments with each of them!

A Day with Gavin.. Our Cousin!

Today we had Gavin over to play. Each of the girls wanted to have a picture where they were holding him. The girls truly enjoy having him around, they are pretty good big cousins! Avery and Gavin are exactly a year a part, but she still claims to be the "big" cousin and wants to hold him... The last picture is Gavin going up the stairs.. he has learned to master the stairs! Friday we had McKinley's "kid" birthday party. Her birthday was actually September 22nd, but Friday was the first weekend we had free! She invited 10 friends and her sister Lexi got to join the fun too, so we had 12 little kids ages 6, 5 and 4. Wow.. We started at the pizza ranch and had pizza, cheese sticks and ice cream cake!!!! McKinley opened her gifts. Her friends are pretty special, as they treated her like a queen with all the wonderful gifts she received! It was then time to head over to Ma and Pa Lanes for some bowling!!! We had two teams of 6 and it worked pretty well! All and all I think the kids had a great time. Mom and dad were ready for the night to end; however all the kids were very well behaved, so it was a great time!

Lexi's First Day of Pre-School!!!

Today was Lexi's first day of Pre-school. She will be going to Russeel on Tuesday's and Thursday's for the full day! She was super excited this morning. We had to take a few pictures before school. Of course we had to get one of the backpack! Dora is still one of her favorites! The last picture is big sister so excited to have her sister ride the bus with her! When I picked Lexi up from daycare she wouldn't stop talking about her day at school. So many stories to tell and not enough breaths to get it all said! It is fun to see her so excited as I was somewhat worried how she would do. I think we are going to be just fine going forward! Happy 1st day of school Lexi!

McKinley and Lexi are invited to "friends" day at dance tomorrow. Kate Cowell is taking Lexi and Allie Christianson is taking McKinley. Shawna brought over extra dance outfits for the girls to wear tomorrow, but of course, the girls couldn't wait until tomorrow. Thank goodness she sent an extra set as Avery had to try one on too! I think they are both ready to enjoy the fun tomorrow.. Avery too, man will she be upset when she finds out that she has to stay with mom!

The other day I went in to wake up the girls and the above photo is what I found. McKinley and Lexi normally share a bed while we are in the process of building; however Avery has her own bed. I do remember hearing Avery get up in the middle of the night, but she didn't come to find me, so I didn't get up to check. She must have been feeling left out, so jumped into bed with her sisters. It looks a little tight, but they didn't seem to mind! I am sure I won't have very many opportunities to catch a photo like this, so took advantage while I could!

It was SMSU Homecoming this weekend and a great time getting together with all our old college friends. It was like a 10 year class reunion as most of us graduated in 1998. The first photo was the girls before the game.. notice our free t-shirts from the alumni assoc, pretty nice! Next is the gang that went to the Hitching Post for supper.. the food was great. Of course we had to have a photo of just the "girls" at the Hitching post! Next is old times at the Gambler.. All of in the photo worked at the Gambler through our college years, so a lot of memories recapped! The last photo is one of our friends (Chris Erickson) that Jamie and I would work with a lot at the Gambler.. We had a great weekend, can't wait until the next year to see how many can get together again!

I had a 4 day trip to Atlanta last week and look what happened. Dad was in charge and Avery got the best of him. McKinley has a Brats doll that has hair coloring with glitter and Avery found it and thought it would be fun to paint herself and the carpet! The joys of childhood! I think Ryan realized that when it is quiet, it is never a good outcome!

McKinley turned "6" on September 22nd; however we had her family birthday party on Sunday the 21st. Here are a few photos of the afternoon. She wanted a cinderella cake. She had family cousins and daycare friends attend the party. She got to blow out her candle so everyone could enjoy the cake. One of her gifts was a barbie and horse carraige and her aunt Kari gave her a pink sweatshirt with her name on it, we had to see how it looked! It is hard to believe she is already 6, she had definitely grown over the years and I can't wait to see how she continues to mature over the next few years! We are hoping to have a "kids" party here shortly, so hopefully more fun pictures to share!

Here are photos of our basement walls... the top picture is the electrical room as well as storage, next is McKinley's room with her walkin closet, then we have Lexi's room with her walk in closet. The small room is the girls playroom and lastly we have the open living room.. as you can see there is a lot of water and crap on the floor.. can't wait till the windows get in!

Kittens!!

About 3 weeks ago we came home to 4 kittens.. they are probably a few months old, but we have 2 black ones and 2 gray ones.. They are a little wild, so Ryan is working with one of the cats (Blackie) as the girls call him.. You can tell by picture #1 the kitten didn't know what to think.. picture #2 he was getting a little closer and picture #3 he was pretty close.. Ryan tried to pet him, but no luck.. The girls have been working with them each day after we get home and McKinley has been able to touch (Blackie).. and the others are getting a little more brave.. Hopefuly I can post more pictures soon!

We have Shingles!!!!

For those of you following the progress of our house.. we now have shingles... YEA... I guess we are going to reside our house now too.. so if you have any great ideas of siding color.. I am open for ideas.. I am not going to do well decorating the inside.. so many things to choose from! I heard our windows are possibly coming this week. I will be sure to update you more! It is so fun to continue to see the progress moving in a forward direction!

McKinley's First Day of Kindergarten!!!

Today was McKinley's first day of kindergarten.. Can you remember your first day of kindergarten, I can and I know I was a shy little girl who cried the entire time! Not McKinley.. she was so excited and ready to go to school... She got to ride with Allie this morning. No tears for McKinley.. just a few for mom.. It is hard watching your little ones grow up.. I can't imagine a wedding!

No Training Wheels

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend.. We went camping in Arco.. I know so far from home, but we had a great time with family and friends...

The pictures above are of Lexi learning to ride her bike without training wheels! Samantha Brust and Tate Thooft camped with us this weekend and they both helped Lexi master riding without any training wheels.. Thanks to the two of you! The pictures are riding at home, she wasn't sure about riding on gravel, but she is a pro! Now the two can ride together!

Grandpa Von Ahn (my dad) came up from Iowa and brought his two horses (Jim and Bob) and we had a little get together with the girls friends. They all went for a hayride.. I don't think we got all the kids on at once, but there were 19 all together! It was a beautiful day and a fun time had by everyone! We certainly wished he lived closer!

Hello everyone.... Well it seems like everyone is starting their own blogs, so I thought I would give it a try so everyone can keep up with the Schreurs family.
Ryan and I have been married for 7 years (April 21,2001).. we have been blessed with 3 beautiful daughters.. McKinley Sue is 5, Alexis (Lexi) Kathleen is 4 and Avery Elizabeth is almost 21 months. They definitley keep us busy, but I can't imagine life without any of them.
I just reached my 10th year at US Bank and in February I started a new position in Sales. Ryan continues to be a self employed carpenter and keeps himself very busy!
